Welcome to in the Genes Goat farm we are a small family farm in the Red Lands of South Florida. Nestled between the Everglades and Florida Keys the weather is usually warm and sunny.  This allows for year round kidding thought most does are breed for spring kids.  The goal of our breeding program is to produce healthy and functional goats.  That will compete well in the show ring and be enjoyable as pets. We have selected for consistent quality and genetic diversity in our foundation stock, and maintain a small but tightly managed herd.

In the process of learning about these enjoyable little creatures, I have met some very nice and kind people who have made this a wonderful experience and are too many to name. However a special thank you must be sent to Mary Mills (formally of Better Blues Farm) and Jamie White (Heavenly Blessings).  Your generosity, patience as well as knowledge and experience have been invaluable. Please feel free to visit the site and let us know what you think? Or if you just want to talk goat drop us an email anytime.

Dwarf & Pygmy goats are productive, loveable and playful. Their even temperament and colorful personalities make them suitable companions for all, including children, the disabled and the elderly.

Their small stature means they do not require as much space as their larger counterparts. They are easy to handle; even small children can be at ease with these little goats. These breeds are hardy, alert and an ecologically effective browser. Goats are an asset in a wide variety of settings, and can adapt to virtually all climates.

What's the difference between a Pygmy goat and a Nigerian Dwarf goat? They share similar origins, but Pygmy goats and Nigerian Dwarfs are two separate breeds. Pygmies are bred to be heavy boned, with thicker bodies. Dwarfs exhibit length of body with a more elegant structure reminiscent of their larger dairy goat counterparts. Pygmies are also primarily "agouti" patterned, with black, silver and caramel being the most common colors.
